Name of job Oil Metering System in Tank Batteries (OMSTB)
Purpose of job

OMSTB is designed for automated collection, processing and storage of the data on oil in tanks and submission of the data to the operator’s automated workstation.

The system covers the facilities of the Priobskoye oil field (oil treatment plant, booster pump station-2, 3, 5), the Zimnee oil field (booster pump station with preliminary water removal unit), the Demianskoye acceptance transfer unit.

Purpose of the

Purposes of the metering system implementation:
- arrangement of automated metering of oil stock in tanks;
- improvement of the accuracy and operational efficiency of the metering system;
- provision of reliability of accounting operations with oil;
- increase in labour productivity;
- protection from mistaken actions of the operator;
- improvement of working conditions and production standards, increase of safety level of the maintenance staff;
- reduction of the number of functions performed by the process personnel due to automation.

Description of the system

The system is based on the indirect method of statistic measurements, where the product mass is determined on the basis of measurement results in measure of capacity:
- level of the product (fixed level sensor);
- density of the product (displacement of servo level gage float, by indirect method based on the hydrostatic principle by fixed hydrostatic pressure gage);
- temperature of the product (fixed temperature gauge);
- volume of the product according to the calibration table of capacity measure using the readings of the product level measurement;

Each tank is equipped with the following sensors and instruments:
- high-precise smart level gauge (on the tank roof);
- NRF590 monitor of tank metering (on the rack near the tank stairs)
- smart radar level gauge (on the tank roof);
- multizone temperature detector (on the tank roof);
- oil product vapour pressure gauge (on the tank roof);
- hydrostatic pressure gauge (in the bottom tank ring);
- capacitance level sensor of tank water (on the tank roof).
